Historical Note

A tetrastyle domed temple containing a triumphal quadriga with an aquila. This type conflates the Temple of Mars Ultor with the triumphal imagery of 29 BC, when Augustus celebrated three consecutive triumphs for his victories in Illyricum, Egypt, and the East.
