Historical Note
A hexastyle temple (possibly an early depiction or idealised version of the Temple of Mars Ultor) contains a triumphal chariot (currus) with four horses and an aquila — a triumphant composition combining the Forum monument with imagery of the triple triumph of 29 BC. The miniature galloping horses recall triumphal quadrigas.
