Historical Note
Victory advancing with wreath and palm is among the most standard post-Actium Augustan types. The wreath would crown the victor; the palm was the prize of the games and the symbol of triumph. This generalised Victory type circulated alongside the more specific shield-bearing and globe-standing variants.
